Razer approached us with the task of introducing their compact, ultra-lightweight gaming mouse – the Razer Orochi V2. Inspired by its namesake, we conceptualized, designed, directed and animated a product launch video with the Japanese myth of the eight headed serpent as our anchor. Thus, the journey of the gaming mouse begins, lasting through the seasons, outliving t imperial Japan, blooming into the cityscape – an envoy of modernity – a mouse that can Outlast and Outplay.
Key Visuals
Consideration for Utility
We intentionally designed dedicated scenes for the sole purpose of showcasing the Orochi V2’s unique selling points. These scenes serve as a great visual on Razer’s main product page, allowing customers to gain a pseudo-physical feel of the product and its functionalities without ever coming into physical contact with it.
Sakura petals are used to dramatize its light weight. The various jump cuts through different environments shows its high portability (which happens to loop surprisingly well!)
Process & Development
Timing is the essence of an impactful explosion.
Go wild. For a while.
We deep-dived into the concept and fabricated an entire backstory, of a retired samurai warrior who chose to self-seclude in the mountains in his wooden cottage residence with his old battle armor amidst a meticulous Zen garden, where he seeks answers from the mythical serpent and…well, that’s not the point.
The point is, while none of this may have been reflected directly in the film, it grounds and inspires our entire creative team at every step of our creative journey.
