Garnier’s serums were given an updated label design marking the start of Garnier’s shift in aesthetics. From over-represented nature to a clean design with square brackets – Garnier now reconciles science with nature. To showcase the new label designs, we were tasked to create a series of videos to be launched at the Garnier Green Academy.
Show time!
The Garnier Green Academy is an annual 3-day physical event that highlights the brandโs commitment in advancing skincare with Green Science. Accordingly, a concept deck was given to us detailing the motives and installations that the booth would have.
Garnier informed us that the aesthetic of the videos needed to match the event for a cohesive and immersive campaign. We realized, however, that we could push this further by replicating the physical space of the event. By doing so, the viewers are placed directly in the labs witnessing the rebranding of Garnier’s serums.
Experiential Immersion
Step into the Garnier ‘Labs’, both physically and digitally!
Keeping the projectโs unique setting in mind, we stuck closely with the eventโs aesthetic.
Incorporating the unique layout and design of the booth; we โassembledโ the product in a science lab that matches the booth’s aesthetics. The videos work together with the surrounding space, bringing the viewers straight into the Garnier labs.
Incorporating The Physical Into The Digital
Knowing what the booth looked like beforehand helped in conceptualizing our video. We made use of the white tiles in the booth by placing them in the walls of our science lab. We replicated the green displays present throughout the booth by modeling green features equipped with an under bar light. Lastly, we placed a round podium in the centre to replicate the product display stand in the middle of the booth. By doing so, we were thus able to make the video resemble the physical booth.
Look at the similarities between the two!
This resemblance blurs the line between the digital and physical, making impossible things – like the mechanical assembly of a giant serum bottle – more immersive.
Directorโs Message
Itโs always exciting to work on campaigns that blur the lines between the digital and physical worlds. With this relaunch, we werenโt just introducing a new look for Garnier’s serum range; we were helping to communicate Garnierโs evolving identity, one rooted in both scientific innovation and a commitment to nature.
By creating a digital space that resembles the physical booth, we aimed to give audiences a complete experience. One where they could truly familiarize themselves with the brandโs new direction in an engaging, memorable way. Itโs meaningful to be part of a project that not only elevates storytelling, but also reflects the real values of the brand.
